DMP helped 13 disabled Purple Heart Veterans to go skydiving!
Did you know? 24 US Military Veterans commit suicide every day.
This project's mission was to help decrease that number, but in a rather unique way. And it all starts with a man named Mike.
Mike Semanoff is a husband, an Army Veteran, and a passionate skydiver! He started a program called Inspiration RX a couple years ago. Inspired by a desire to boost the morale of wounded and disabled veterans, Mike feels that as our war fighters come home with wounds that prevent them from living a "normal" life. Inspiration RX is dedicated to uplifting our wounded and disabled warriors by providing them opportunities to skydive, paraglide, or experience other exciting activities that inspire them to live a full life back here in the States. The adrenaline rush and freedom of jumping out of plane is exactly what some of these vets need to get their mind back in the game and realize life has so much to offer them still.
Mike took 13 veterans with Purple Hearts to go skydiving and we did our part to help. Many media outlets reached back to Mike hoping to cover the event and show support for our Veterans, including Extra with Mario Lopez, LeAnn Rimes, and Mike Cibrian!
This isn't usually the type of project we do, but given the time urgency of this and how Mike showed such passion and emotion for the help some of these vets need, we just had to jump in and help out. This is changing the lives of a few good people who sacrificed their lives, bodies and mental health for our freedom and the least we can do is help them try and get some of that feeling back. I hope it hits your heart like it did ours.
