About This Project

Funding Amount: $350

DMP gave 80+ Special Needs children a Wild West day to remember.

DMP and the Street Team helped with Conover School's Wild, Wild West Day by getting horses for these children with disabilities. The event lasted all day and included horses, the mayor and a clown. Watch the Video to be a part of it...

James, a veteran who we built a pool for, wanted to do his part by helping some children who attend Conover Special Education School. We decided to help. We reached out to the Conover Special Education School, aligned with a horse Wrangler, Cornelius McJunkins, and his team to bring horses to the school for the students to ride and pet. James and Rasta also brought five horses to the Conover Special Education School.

Studies have demonstrated a connection that animals, especially horses have a positive impact on special needs children. This mesmerizing connection impacts children to achieve greater depths of awareness and education. We hope that Wild Wild West Day brought some excitement and joy to these special children, and the beginning of a long relationship with the warm, loving staff and children of the school.
