About This Project
Funding Amount: $350
Doing My Part was able to give an injured Army Rescue Veteran a pool for his family.
James Steelman worked for 16 years as an Army Rescue Squad member. He spent most of his time operating the "Jaws of Life" prying people from near death situations. He is now wheelchair bound and has suffered 5 heart attacks. His dream was to give his family a pool. DMP helped his dream come true.
Three years ago, James bought a pool to give to his family. His health issues prevented him from being able to install it.
James has suffered a list of problems: 5 heart attacks, the loss of the upper half of his leg, loss of toes on his left foot, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Diabetes.
The DMP Street Team worked hard for this veteran and his family by 'Raising The Pool.' We came together as did the members of doingmypart.com with the help of their $3 monthly donations, to build this pool for James and his family.
